Previously, I purchased a NanoKVM to perform remote operations on my home server, but I decided to try the PCIe version.

In fact, the PCIe version can be installed in a PCI slot, and it is not necessary to connect it to a PCIe slot.
Therefore, even if there are no available PCIe slots, it can still be installed as long as there is a blank slot.

If it is not the PoE compatible version, it is quite inexpensive at around 6,000 yen.
The WiFi version comes with a WiFi module, but it probably does not comply with Japanese standards, so it cannot be used in Japan.

Checking What Arrived

• The box is a standard cardboard box with the NanoKVM logo printed on it.

• It looks just like a regular PCIe card.

• Contents

  • Cables for LED, power button, and reset button

It is very nice that an HDMI cable is included, unlike the NanoKVM Full.

• It is equipped with a KIOXIA 32GB microSD card.
  • Same as the NanoKVM Full.

• This is what it looks like when installed in a PCIe slot.
  • It is not connected to the PCIe slot, but this is fine.
  • Connections for the power switch, reset switch, and power LED are made.

• The back looks like this.
  • It has HDMI, USB, and LAN ports.
  • The LAN port is PoE compatible.
  • If connected to a PoE-compatible switch, power supply is possible.
  • If there is no PoE-compatible switch, power can be supplied via USB Type-C.

There is a small LCD that displays the IP address and other information, just like the NanoKVM.

NanoKVM Settings

• The configuration of NanoKVM is the same as that of the NanoKVM Full.

Conclusion

• The PCIe version can be installed in a PCI slot and works without needing to connect to a PCIe slot.
  • Even if there are no available PCIe slots, it can be installed if there is a blank slot.
• Remote operation is possible just like with the NanoKVM Full.
• The inclusion of an HDMI cable is appreciated.
• It fits inside the PC case, making cable management tidy.
